What is EFT?
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals and couples identify and transform negative patterns of interaction by focusing on underlying emotions and attachment needs. Research shows EFT strengthens emotional bonds, improves communication, and fosters lasting connection and security in relationships.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helps people move past conflict by uncovering what’s really happening beneath the surface. Often, couples get stuck in negative cycles—arguing about small things, shutting down, or feeling unheard—when in reality, both partners are longing for closeness and understanding. EFT slows down those moments so you can recognize the deeper feelings and needs driving the conflict, and then practice sharing them in ways that build connection rather than create distance.
This approach is especially powerful for couples struggling with communication issues or intimacy problems. Instead of repeating the same arguments or drifting further apart, EFT helps you learn how to express your needs, listen to each other with empathy, and rebuild the sense of safety and trust that intimacy grows from. Many clients find that EFT not only improves how they handle conflict but also deepens their emotional and physical closeness, creating a stronger, more resilient bond.
Right now it likely feels like it’s you against your partner. This approach will help you get back on the same team and find the CYCLE and BEHAVIORS that are holding you back. I am nobody’s judge or jury–a therapist is here to help you see the negative interaction cycle of defense mechanisms and old wounds that are keeping you from healthy love.
In my practice, I integrate EFT and the attachment theory framework with tools from other evidence-based approaches—such as mindfulness, somatic awareness, IFS, or cognitive-behavioral techniques—so that therapy is tailored to what works best for you. I believe every person and relationship is unique, and I follow your lead and comfort zone while offering a variety of strategies to support healing and growth. This way, you receive the grounding of EFT’s proven framework along with flexible, creative tools that fit your specific needs and goals.
